Biden Orders Surge in Weapons to Ukraine After Russia's Christmas Strikes on Energy Infrastructure
Dec 25, 2024, 11:20 PM
U.S. President Joe Biden has directed the Department of Defense to continue increasing the supply of weapons to Ukraine in response to Russia's recent Christmas Day attacks on the country's energy infrastructure. Biden condemned the Russian strikes, which involved over 70 missiles and more than 100 drones, as 'outrageous' and aimed at cutting off the Ukrainian people's access to heat and electricity during winter. The U.S. commitment to bolstering Ukraine's defense against Russian forces remains steadfast, with Biden emphasizing that the Ukrainian people deserve to live in peace and safety. The U.S. has already provided hundreds of air defense missiles to Ukraine, with more on the way.
