Google's Gemini AI Launches, Med-Gemini Surpasses GPT-4 in Medical Tasks

Google has launched a new generative AI platform named Gemini, which includes a specialized version for the medical field, Med-Gemini. This platform integrates advanced capabilities such as transcribing speech, generating artwork, and handling multimodal data like medical images, surgical videos, and genomics. Med-Gemini, a subset of the broader Gemini platform, is designed to enhance medical applications by providing up-to-date medical knowledge, advanced reasoning, and understanding of complex multimodal data. It has achieved state-of-the-art performance on 10 of 14 benchmarks, surpassing previous models like GPT-4 in text, multimodal, and long-context applications.
