Russia Notifies U.S. Before Launching 'Oreshnik' Missile at Dnipro
Nov 21, 2024, 07:48 PM
Russia notified the United States 30 minutes before launching an experimental missile, known as 'Oreshnik,' at an industrial plant in Dnipro, Ukraine, on Thursday. The notification was sent through the Nuclear Risk Reduction Center, an automatic system designed for such communications. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed this action, stating that the missile strike was pre-notified to the U.S. via the nuclear risk reduction channels. The missile impacted an industrial plant in Dnipro, and the Pentagon also acknowledged receiving a brief notification from Russia about the intended launch of a Medium/Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile targeting Dnipro.
