Matthew Perry's Family Seeks Justice One Year After His Death at 54
Oct 28, 2024, 03:30 PM
On the first anniversary of Matthew Perry's death at age 54 from a ketamine overdose, his family opened up about their grief, his final days, and their efforts to preserve his legacy. In an exclusive interview with Savannah Guthrie on the 'TODAY' show, Perry's mother, Suzanne Morrison, his stepfather, 'Dateline' correspondent Keith Morrison, and his sisters discussed the late actor's long battle with addiction, his struggles with loneliness, and their plans to continue his life's work through a foundation aimed at helping others struggling with substance abuse. Suzanne Morrison shared that she had felt a premonition before his death and expressed how it still hits her hard when she goes to call him and he's not there. Keith Morrison commented on the ongoing legal proceedings against five individuals charged in connection with Perry's death, including a doctor and a woman referred to as the 'ketamine queen' accused of supplying him with drugs, stating, 'You are going down, baby,' expressing hope that justice would be served. Emily Morrison, Perry's sister, reflected on her brother's desire for love, saying, 'Really all he ever wanted was to love and to be loved.'
