Ukraine Reportedly Fires 40 Drones and Missiles at Crimea's Belbek Airfield; Russia Claims 25 Drones Intercepted
Nov 27, 2024, 09:06 AM
On November 27, 2024, Ukrainian forces reportedly launched a significant attack on Russian-occupied Crimea, targeting the Belbek airfield and the Nakhimov Naval School in Sevastopol. The assault was said to involve around 40 drones, Neptune missiles, and possibly Storm Shadow missiles. Explosions and smoke were reported across the city, with local sources noting powerful blasts near key military installations. The Belbek airfield, a strategic site housing multiple units equipped with helicopters, jets, and S-300/S-400 air defense systems, was a primary target. Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-installed proxy head of Sevastopol, claimed that Russian air defenses intercepted 25 drones over Crimea and the Black Sea. The attack allegedly caused panic among Russian channels as debris hit targets, marking one of the largest reported coordinated strikes on Crimea since the beginning of the conflict.
