IDF Conducts Airstrikes on Hezbollah Positions in Beirut and Tyre
Oct 28, 2024, 09:11 AM
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have conducted a series of airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, including the southern suburbs of Beirut and the ancient city of Tyre. The IDF released footage showing strikes on Hezbollah's underground compounds and weapons storage facilities. These operations targeted Hezbollah's weapon production and maintenance sites, arms depots, and observation posts. In Dahiya, the IDF used bunker buster bombs to strike more than twenty Hezbollah targets. The strikes have resulted in significant damage, including the destruction of residential buildings in Tyre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At least eight strikes were reported in Beirut’s southern suburbs. The IDF has issued evacuation orders for residents in several areas, including Tyre and 14 villages in southern Lebanon, urging them to move north of the Awali River. The ongoing conflict has led to multiple casualties and extensive destruction in the targeted areas.
