Canada Arrests Alexander 'Connor' Moucka, Suspected Hacker of 165 Snowflake Clients Including AT&T and Ticketmaster
Nov 5, 2024, 08:03 AM
Canadian authorities have arrested Alexander "Connor" Moucka, who is suspected of orchestrating a series of hacks affecting up to 165 customers of Snowflake Inc., including major corporations such as AT&T and Ticketmaster. The breaches, which occurred in June and July, involved unauthorized access to sensitive data from these organizations, some of which were subsequently extorted for large sums. Moucka, who went dark on Telegram last week after beginning to share his origin story, was apprehended on October 30 following a request by the United States. He recently appeared in a Canadian court without legal representation, stating that the prison was on lockdown. Moucka may face extradition to the U.S. as authorities coordinate efforts to address the cybersecurity threats posed by these breaches.
