Cessna Citation 525 Crash in Ubatuba Kills Pilot Paulo Seghetto, Injures Seven

A small aircraft, identified as a Cessna Citation 525, crashed on the beach of Ubatuba, São Paulo, after overshooting the runway at Ubatuba Airport. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on Thursday, resulting in the death of the pilot, Paulo Seghetto, who was trapped in the wreckage. Four passengers, including two adults and two children, were rescued alive from the plane. The passengers were identified as Mireylle Fries, her husband Bruno Almeida Souza, and their two children. Additionally, three individuals on a nearby skate park were injured. The aircraft, which had departed from Mineiros, Goiás, was owned by the Fries family, known for soybean production. The Brazilian Air Force's Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa) has initiated an investigation into the crash, focusing on factors such as weather conditions and the runway's drainage system. The Ministry of Public Prosecution of São Paulo (MPSP) has also launched an inquiry to determine any responsibilities and to verify the aircraft's and airport's compliance. The passengers were treated at Ubatuba's Santa Casa hospital and later transferred to a facility in Caraguatatuba for further care.
