Sep 17, 2024, 05:51 PM
Prosecutors have filed nine arson-related felony counts against Justin Wayne Halsentberg, a 34-year-old man from Norco, California, who is accused of starting the massive Line Fire in San Bernardino County. Authorities allege that Halsentberg used three separate incendiary devices and tried three times to ignite the wildfire, which has expanded to 39,111 acres and forced the evacuation of thousands of homes. Halsentberg has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The fire began during a period of hot and dry weather in the San Bernardino Mountains, Southern California.
