A major forest fire broke out on the Greek island of Hydra, near Athens, on Friday night at around 10:45 pm, allegedly caused by fireworks discharged from a yacht. The fire started in a remote and rugged area, making it difficult for firefighters to access. It took until Saturday morning to contain the blaze with the help of aerial assets. Greek authorities have arrested 13 individuals in connection with the incident. The mayor of Hydra expressed outrage over the irresponsible actions that led to the fire.
