Flordelis Sent to Solitary Confinement After Cell Phone Found; Hospitalized Following 50-Year Sentence
Dec 7, 2024, 05:10 PM
Flordelis, a former federal deputy and convicted murderer, has been placed in solitary confinement after authorities discovered a mobile phone in her cell at the Bangu Penitentiary in Rio de Janeiro. The discovery led to the revocation of certain privileges she previously enjoyed while incarcerated. Following the incident, Flordelis experienced health issues, including high blood pressure, headaches, and dizziness, prompting her transfer to a local healthcare facility, the UPA of the Bangu Complex. In 2019, Flordelis was arrested for the murder of her husband, Anderson do Carmo, and was sentenced to 50 years in prison in 2022. The incident has raised concerns regarding security protocols within the prison system.
