Metal Falls from AT&T Stadium Roof Before Cowboys-Texans Monday Night Game; Roof Closed After First Opening in Two Years
Nov 18, 2024, 11:40 PM
Ahead of Monday night's game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans at AT&T Stadium, a large piece of metal, along with additional small debris, fell from the stadium's retractable roof onto the field as it was being opened. No injuries were reported, though the debris narrowly missed several people on the field. Another piece of metal remained stuck in the rafters. The roof, which was being opened for the first time in over two years for a Cowboys game, was subsequently closed due to safety concerns. Stadium officials, including a Cowboys spokesperson, confirmed the incident and are reviewing the situation to determine the ability to safely reopen the roof. Workers were seen collecting debris while players warmed up.
