FSB Detains Two in Sevastopol Over Black Sea Fleet Captain's Car Bombing
Nov 19, 2024, 08:00 AM
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained two residents of Sevastopol, including a 38-year-old woman, in connection with a car bombing that killed Captain 1st Rank Valery Trankovsky of the Black Sea Fleet on November 13. The attack, which took place in occupied Crimea, was claimed by Ukrainian security services. The FSB alleges that the suspects had ties to Ukraine's security services, and a second explosive device was reportedly uncovered during the operation. The Russian-installed governor has vowed revenge for the killing of Trankovsky, who was the Chief of Staff of the 41st Brigade of Missile Ships and Boats of the Black Sea Fleet. Video footage of the explosion has also been released.
