9-Year-Old Girl Raped and Murdered in Kripakhali, West Bengal; Villagers Torch Police Outpost

A 9-year-old girl studying in Class 4 was abducted, raped, and murdered in Kripakhali village within the jurisdiction of the Kultali police station in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district. The girl was kidnapped while returning home from tuition, and her body was found on Saturday morning in a canal along the bank of the River Ganges. Her family alleges she was raped. Protests erupted following the discovery, with locals alleging police inaction. Villagers torched a police outpost and vandalized vehicles in response to the incident. One suspect has been arrested in connection with the case. BJP state president Dr. Sukanta Majumdar criticized the state government over the incident, and NCPCR Chairperson Priyank Kanoongo commented on the police's inability to locate the girl in time.
