Small Plane Crashes into Buildings in Gramado, Killing Nine

A small twin-engine aircraft crashed around 9:30 am this morning in the center of Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, causing a fire and damaging several buildings, including a furniture store, houses, and a hotel along Avenida das Hortênsias. The plane, carrying at least ten people, departed from Canela en route to Jundiaí, São Paulo, but lost altitude shortly after takeoff. According to the Defesa Civil Nacional, nine people have been confirmed dead. Emergency services, including the Corpo de Bombeiros and police, are on the scene working to extinguish the fire and assist with rescue efforts.
