Chiefs' Isaiah Buggs Faces Two Misdemeanor Animal Cruelty Charges, Turns Himself In
May 29, 2024, 11:47 PM
Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs is facing two misdemeanor warrants issued by Tuscaloosa police for second-degree cruelty to dogs. Buggs is accused of leaving two dogs locked on his property without food or water. One dog was reportedly found chained up, surrounded by feces, and had to be euthanized, while the other had an extremely low weight and tested positive for a viral illness. The animals were seized on March 28. Buggs denies the charges, claiming that he is the target of police harassment due to his refusal to close his Tuscaloosa hookah lounge. He has also been arrested two times over the dispute, including for shoving a police chief and pointing a gun at a woman. Buggs turned himself in to the Tuscaloosa County Jail on Thursday and was released shortly after.
