Cam Skattebo's Heroics Tie Arizona State with Texas 24-24 in Peach Bowl Comeback
Jan 1, 2025, 09:16 PM
Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo delivered a remarkable performance against Texas in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, leading his team back from a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit to tie the game at 24-24 with five minutes remaining. Facing the nation's No. 2 defense, Skattebo rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries, caught six passes for 83 yards—including a 62-yard reception despite defensive pass interference and a face mask penalty that took his helmet off—and threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Malik McClain on a fourth-and-two double pass play. He also scored on a two-point conversion run that tied the game. A key interception by Javan Robinson helped set up the comeback. Skattebo's total offense of 257 yards surpassed that of the entire Texas offense at that point in the game, despite playing through pain.
