Judge Orders Unsealing of Evidence in Trump 2020 Election-Interference Case Today
Oct 19, 2024, 09:54 AM
A federal judge has ruled that evidence in the 2020 election-interference case against former President Donald Trump will be unsealed today. Trump's legal team had the opportunity to contest the validity or truthfulness of the evidence but chose not to, instead arguing that the release would be harmful to their client. Legal experts have raised concerns about the timing of the release, with some suggesting it is politically motivated. CNN legal analyst Elie Honig stated he 'can’t think of any precedent' for such a release so close to an election. Some transparency is not as good as a trial, but it is what this federal judge could do.
