Convicted Child Murderer Ramone Alston Captured in Kannapolis After North Carolina Escape
Aug 16, 2024, 08:41 AM
A manhunt was launched in North Carolina after Ramone Alston, a convicted child murderer, escaped from custody during a medical appointment at a hospital in Hillsborough. Alston, who was serving a life sentence for the murder of 1-year-old Maleah Williams in 2015, managed to flee while being transported to the hospital on Tuesday morning. Authorities conducted an extensive search involving hundreds of law enforcement officers. The search concluded when Alston was captured at a hotel in Kannapolis, over 100 miles away from the escape site, on Friday. A woman was also arrested in connection with the escape.
