Los Angeles Bus Hijacking Ends in Police Chase, One Dead; Suspect in Custody

A Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus was hijacked early Wednesday morning, leading to a dramatic police chase through downtown Los Angeles. The suspect, who commandeered the bus at gunpoint, shot a passenger before forcing the driver to drive the vehicle. The standoff, which lasted over an hour, ended when the SWAT team intervened, using flashbangs to apprehend the suspect. The driver managed to escape unharmed, but the passenger who was shot was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died. The suspect is currently in custody. The SWAT team was at the scene, and the condition of other hostages remains unknown.
