Putin: No Plan to Storm Kiev in February-March 2022, Aimed for Peace Talks
Jun 14, 2024, 10:08 AM
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russian troops were stationed near Kiev in February and March 2022, but there was no intention to storm the Ukrainian capital. The operation aimed to force the Ukrainian leadership to negotiate and seek peace. Putin emphasized that the objective was to push Kiev to peace talks rather than to capture the city. Additionally, he mentioned that the Russian Federation had offered Ukraine to withdraw its troops from Donbas as a solution, but this initiative was rejected.
