Six ISIS Supporters Take Two Hostages in Rostov Detention Center
Jun 16, 2024, 07:05 AM
Prisoners at a pre-trial detention center in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, have taken two employees hostage. The detainees, reportedly connected to ISIS and previously convicted on terrorist charges, are armed with knives and have demanded a car and weapons in exchange for the hostages. The center of Rostov has been closed for traffic as Russian special services approach the prison. Negotiations are currently underway with the hostage-takers, who have been identified as six prisoners claiming to be ISIS supporters and calling themselves 'Mujahideen of the Islamic State.' The prisoners breached the window bars of their cell to gain access to the duty station, where they seized the guards. They reportedly control part of the prison and have released a video.
