IDF Gains Control of 60-70% of Rafah in 40-Day Operation, Eliminates 550 Hamas Terrorists
Jun 17, 2024, 02:07 PM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have made significant progress in their operation in Rafah, a city in the southern Gaza Strip. The IDF's Nahal Brigade has discovered extensive weapons caches and tunnels built by Hamas militants. These tunnels, which allow movement between residential buildings, were found alongside large stockpiles of weapons, including AK-47s, ammunition, missiles, explosives, and grenades. The operation, now in its 40th day, has resulted in the IDF gaining control of 60-70% of Rafah. Approximately 550 Hamas terrorists have been eliminated, and two out of four Hamas Rafah battalions are in serious condition, with the remaining battalions in moderate competence. Additionally, the IDF has located dozens of long-range rockets, 200 tunnel entrances, and 25 tunnels reaching the Egyptian border. The IDF also hinted that Rafah Brigade commander Muhammad Shabana survived.
