Texas AG Blocks Biden From Disposing Border Wall Materials for 30 Days Before Trump Takes Office
Dec 28, 2024, 02:21 PM
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has successfully blocked the Biden administration from disposing of any further border wall materials before President-elect Donald Trump takes office. The Biden administration confirmed to the court that it will agree to an order preventing the disposal of these materials for the next 30 days, allowing Trump to use them as he sees fit. This follows a lawsuit filed by Paxton, who accused the administration of illegally subverting border security by auctioning off the materials. The court order is enforceable, and if violated, could result in contempt charges. The materials in question were purchased with funds allocated for border wall construction, which were subject to an earlier injunction in May 2024 requiring the Biden administration to use them for that purpose.
