Pentagon Denies Foreign Involvement as Large Drones Swarm New Jersey, Officials Call for State of Emergency
Dec 12, 2024, 01:21 AM
In recent weeks, numerous sightings of mysterious drones over New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania have perplexed state and federal officials and concerned residents. The drones, described as being as large as small cars or even buses, have been spotted over sensitive locations, including a military research facility, and reportedly avoid detection by traditional methods such as helicopters and radio. Officials note that the drones can even 'go dark' when observed. A U.S. Coast Guard vessel was reportedly trailed by dozens of drones off the coast of New Jersey, according to Rep. Chris Smith. Lawmakers, including New Jersey Congressman Jeff Van Drew and Rep. Carlos Gimenez, have expressed frustration over the lack of information from federal agencies. Van Drew suggested that an Iranian 'mothership' might be launching these drones, though he later clarified that it 'might' be Iranian. The Pentagon has denied any foreign involvement, stating that there is 'no evidence these are coming from a foreign entity or from a foreign adversary' and that there is 'nothing to worry about.' New Jersey Senator Jon Bramnick called to declare a 'limited state of emergency' amid the unexplained drone activity. Pequannock Mayor Ryan Herd stated, 'We have no idea where these drones are coming from.' The drones have been appearing since mid-November and continue to raise concerns among residents and officials, with some questioning the legality of shooting them down. Sightings include reports of drones over the Verrazano Bridge on December 8, and the drones' ability to avoid detection has heightened anxieties. As the mysterious drone activity persists, officials and residents continue to demand explanations.
