VisitGermany Arrests Libyan Linked to ISIS, Foils Israeli Embassy Attack After Intelligence Tip
Oct 20, 2024, 09:05 AM
German authorities have arrested a 28-year-old Libyan man suspected of planning a terrorist attack on the Israeli embassy in Berlin. The suspect is believed to have links to the Islamic State (ISIS) and was allegedly planning an attack involving firearms. The arrest was made following intelligence from a foreign service, reportedly the Mossad. German federal prosecutors stated that the man was detained in the greater Berlin area on Saturday evening to prevent a possible attack. The suspect reportedly communicated with an ISIS member via messenger chat to plan the attack. He is set to appear before Germany’s highest court.
