Game Freak, the developer behind the Pokémon franchise, has confirmed a significant data breach resulting in the leak of extensive internal data. The breach, which occurred in August, has exposed personal information of over 2,600 employees, including past, present, and contract workers. Additionally, the leak, dubbed the 'Teraleak,' has revealed confidential information about upcoming Pokémon projects, including Generation 10 games codenamed 'Gaia' and details about the Nintendo Switch 2. The leaked data includes source code, beta builds, and unused designs from previous Pokémon games such as HeartGold and SoulSilver, Black and White 2, and Pokémon Bank. Game Freak CEO Satoshi Tajiri acknowledged the breach in a statement issued on October 10th, addressing the situation.
