IDF Releases Footage of Hamas Leader Sinwar and Family Hiding in Tunnels Before October 7 Attack
Oct 19, 2024, 06:05 PM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have released newly declassified footage showing Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and his family moving supplies into underground tunnels in Khan Yunis, Gaza, on the night before the October 7 attack on Israel. Captured on October 6, 2023, the footage shows Sinwar, his wife, and children transporting items such as food, water, pillows, and a television—reportedly with the help of his children—into the tunnels, indicating prior knowledge of the impending assault. Sinwar's wife is also seen holding a baby and a doll. The IDF's Chief Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, presented the footage during a press conference. Some reports indicate additional footage was released showing the moment Sinwar was killed by a tank shell in Rafah, southern Gaza.
