Pro-Palestine Protesters Occupy Brooklyn Museum, NYPD Cracks Down Amid Injuries
May 31, 2024, 09:18 PM
Hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters have occupied the Brooklyn Museum in New York City, demanding the institution disclose and divest from ties with Israel. The occupation, described as an 'autonomous action,' saw demonstrators drop banners from the roof reading 'Free Palestine' and 'Divest from Genocide.' A massive banner was also draped across the building. Police are on the scene, and there have been reports of at least one protester injured and another having her hijab ripped off. Riot police are present as the NYPD begins cracking down on the peaceful protesters. The protesters are calling for solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, where Americans and Israelis are being held hostage.
