Alcon Entertainment Sues Tesla, Elon Musk, and Warner Bros. Discovery Over AI-Generated Cybercab Robotaxi Images
Oct 21, 2024, 05:28 PM
Alcon Entertainment, the production company behind 'Blade Runner 2049,' has filed a lawsuit against Tesla, its CEO Elon Musk, and Warner Bros. Discovery. The lawsuit alleges that Tesla and Musk used AI-generated images representing scenes from 'Blade Runner 2049' without permission to promote Tesla's new Cybercab robotaxi. Warner Bros. Discovery is also named in the suit for allegedly facilitating the partnership. The production company claims this constitutes copyright infringement and that the images were used in unlicensed promotional materials. The lawsuit highlights concerns over the unauthorized use of intellectual property in AI-generated content and cites Elon Musk's 'extreme political and social views' as problematic. Additionally, the imagery used was described as 'highly offensive.'
