The owner of a water buffalo that escaped in August and roamed a Des Moines, Iowa, suburb for several days has pleaded guilty to having an animal at large. The animal escaped while being transported to slaughter. Following the incident, the owner was fined $105 and has surrendered his three water buffaloes to an animal shelter.
