Ontario to Expand Alcohol Sales to Convenience, Grocery, and Corner Stores by September
May 24, 2024, 02:44 PM
Ontario is set to expand alcohol sales to convenience stores, grocery stores, and big-box stores starting this summer. Premier Doug Ford announced that beer, wine, and pre-mixed drinks, including 30-packs, will be available in these locations, with beer and wine specifically coming to corner stores by Labour Day. This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide more choice and convenience to consumers. The province will pay up to $225 million to The Beer Store as part of this expansion, which comes at a significant cost.
