May 29, 2024, 07:59 AM
Sweden has announced its largest-ever military aid package to Ukraine, valued at approximately $1.3 billion (€1.16 billion). The package includes two Saab 340 ASC-890 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system aircraft, which are equipped with advanced radar systems capable of detecting and tracking objects over a large area and have Link 16 communication capabilities. The aid package also comprises the entirety of Sweden's Pansarbandvagn 302 armored personnel carriers, artillery ammunition, and AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles. This substantial military support, which is Sweden's 16th package, aims to bolster Ukraine's air defense capabilities amid ongoing conflict.
