VisitOpenAI Launches Tool with 98.8% Accuracy to Detect DALL-E 3 Images
May 7, 2024, 10:20 PM
OpenAI has announced the launch of a new tool designed to detect images generated by its DALL-E 3 text-to-image generator. The tool boasts a 98.8% accuracy rate for unaltered images, but this success rate drops when images are altered. Additionally, it only flags between 5 to 10 percent of AI images from DALL-E competitors. The AI company, backed by Microsoft, is also joining forces with Microsoft and Adobe in the content credentials group. This initiative is part of a broader effort to combat disinformation, especially with concerns about AI-generated content influencing upcoming elections. OpenAI plans to share this tool with disinformation researchers to test in real-world scenarios.
