Ukraine's Missile Strikes Hit Two Russian Ammo Depots, Destroy 400 Iranian Drones—5% of Stockpile
Oct 11, 2024, 08:17 AM
Ukraine has intensified its strikes on Russian ammunition depots, reportedly hitting two facilities in as many days, including a significant attack on a drone storage site in Russia's Krasnodar region. Ukrainian military officials claim that they used a Neptune cruise missile to destroy a storage facility housing approximately 400 Shahed suicide drones supplied to Russia by Iran, as well as devastating glide bombs. This attack potentially eliminated 5% of the over 8,000 Shahed drones acquired by Russia. In a separate operation, Ukraine targeted the Khanskaya airfield in the Russian region of Adygea. Reports indicate that the strike destroyed four missiles, 15 bombs, and 41 UMPK guidance devices, and also damaged the runway. Local residents reported significant explosions and fires following the strike. Additionally, Ukrainian forces assert they have destroyed North Korean weapons stored in a Russian arms depot, underscoring the international sources of Russia's military equipment. The ongoing strikes by Ukraine aim to erode Russia's military advantage by targeting its ammunition depots and supply lines.
