A rapidly growing wildfire, known as the Post Fire, has erupted near the 5 Freeway in Gorman, California. The blaze, which started on June 15, 2024, has quickly expanded to nearly 5,000 acres, prompting evacuation orders for Hungry Valley and Pyramid Lake. The fire's rapid spread has been attributed to its fast rate of growth, with multiple structures threatened. Over 250 firefighters, including ground and air response units from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) and Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD), are battling the blaze. At least four tankers and five helicopters have been deployed to contain the fire. The fire has also led to significant traffic disruptions on the I-5 freeway.
