May 18, 2024, 07:54 PM
The Wildcat Fire, which started in Maricopa County, Arizona, near Wildcat Road, has grown to 100 acres near Vista Verde. The fire began in a riverbed area and has prompted a significant response from firefighting crews. Multiple resources, including three Hotshot crews, a Type 2 crew, three Large Air Tankers (LATs), four Very Large Air Tankers (VLATs), three engines, Air Attack, and a helicopter, are working to contain the fire. The fire activity has significantly decreased, and approximately 60 personnel are assigned to the effort. Fire managers have expressed concerns over human-caused fires in the area this year. Roads have been closed, and the public is advised not to fly drones over the fire as it poses a danger to pilots and firefighters.
