The United States has imposed sanctions on five Russia-based individuals and entities for their involvement in transferring military equipment, including ballistic missiles, between North Korea (DPRK) and Russia. The U.S. Treasury announced these sanctions on May 16, targeting two Russian individuals and three companies, citing concerns about the DPRK-Russia relationship and its threat to global security and the international non-proliferation regime. In response, Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korea's leader, denied the accusations, calling them 'fiction' and stating that North Korea has no intention to export arms.
