Ukrainian drones launched an attack on the Kristall Complex oil depot in the Russian city of Engels, located in the Saratov region, causing a massive fire. The targeted facility supplies fuel to the Engels-2 military airfield, which hosts Russia's strategic aviation fleet. The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed the strike, noting that it poses logistical challenges for Russia's strategic aviation and reduces their ability to conduct strikes on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure. The attack resulted in the deaths of two Russian firefighters while they were attempting to extinguish the fire. A state of emergency was declared in Engels due to the ongoing fire, which has not been extinguished for over 14 hours, with reports of new explosions at the site.
