The guitar, described as one of the 'most historically important Beatles guitars,' was used by Lennon to record multiple Beatles songs, including 'Help!', in the 1960s before it went missing for 50 years. The auction, held at Julien's Auctions in Times Square, New York, saw the guitar become one of the most valuable pieces of Beatles memorabilia ever sold. The guitar also sold for £1.5 million.
