Trump Backs Out of '60 Minutes' Interview, Demands Apology from Lesley Stahl
Oct 8, 2024, 12:16 AM
Donald Trump has backed out of a scheduled interview with '60 Minutes,' citing the need for an apology from the show for how Lesley Stahl treated him during their last interview. Trump's campaign provided shifting explanations for the cancellation, initially complaining about fact-checking and later demanding an apology. CBS's Scott Pelley noted that the network had agreed to conduct the interview in Butler, and Trump's communications director Steven Cheung had initially confirmed logistical arrangements. Vice President Kamala Harris, who was also scheduled for an interview, criticized Trump for his decision. The '60 Minutes' episode went ahead with Harris's participation.
