At Least 38 Dead in Bus, Truck Collision on BR-116 in Minas Gerais, Brazil

A bus collision near the Lajinha area in Teófilo Otoni, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on Saturday resulted in at least 38 deaths. The accident involved a passenger bus carrying approximately 45 people from São Paulo, a truck carrying tiles, and a car on the BR-116 highway. The bus reportedly blew a tire, causing it to lose control and collide head-on with the truck. The collision caused the bus to catch fire, trapping victims inside. Among the victims was at least one child. Some survivors, including the occupants of the car, were taken to nearby hospitals. The total number of people involved was 48. The BR-116 was closed for several hours following the accident.
