Spurious Liquor in Tamil Nadu's Kallakurichi Claims 10 Lives, Causes Multiple Illnesses

A tragic incident involving the consumption of suspected spurious liquor in Tamil Nadu's Kallakurichi district has resulted in multiple fatalities and illnesses. At least six people, including a woman, have died, and over 20 others have fallen ill. Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai has called for the resignation of the State Minister for Prohibition and Excise, citing the increasing prevalence of spurious liquor. In response to the incident, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has ordered a CB-CID inquiry and has transferred District Collector Sravankumar Jatavath, appointing MS Prashanth as the new Collector for Kallakurichi district. The hooch tragedy has claimed the lives of 10 people.
