A fire broke out early Sunday morning at a single-storey shop-cum-residential building in Chembur East, Mumbai, resulting in the deaths of at least seven people, including three children, all members of a single family. The blaze, which reportedly started around 5 am due to an alleged short circuit, engulfed the structure located in Siddharth Colony, K.N. Gaikwad Marg. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the fire began with electrical wiring and installations in the ground-floor shop and spread to household articles on the upper floor.
