Oct 7, 2024, 12:40 AM
Microsoft has announced that its in-house game developer, 343 Industries, has been rebranded as Halo Studios. The studio revealed that all future Halo games will be developed using Unreal Engine 5, marking a significant shift from the previously used Slipspace Engine. This change was announced during the Halo World Championships and is part of a broader strategy to revitalize the franchise. Halo Studios is currently working on multiple new projects, including a research initiative called Project Foundry, which aims to explore the creative potential of Unreal Engine 5 for the next generation of Halo games. Concept art and test footage, including images of Master Chief, have been released, showcasing the new visual direction for the series. Epic Games expressed their honor that Halo Studios has chosen their tools for future development.
