At least 86 people, including 21 children, were killed after a boat sank late Monday on the Kwa River, a tributary of the Congo River, in the province of Mai-Ndombe, in western Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The incident was confirmed by local sources on Tuesday and by President Felix Tshisekedi on Wednesday. Authorities are currently working to recover bodies from the site of the accident near Kinshasa.
