Netanyahu Criticizes IDF's 11-Hour Daily Tactical Pause in Gaza for Humanitarian Aid
Jun 16, 2024, 12:56 PM
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced an 11-hour daily tactical pause in military operations along a key route in southern Gaza to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid. This pause, effective from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, aims to allow aid trucks to safely travel from the Kerem Shalom crossing to Khan Yunis and other parts of Gaza, including the Salah a-Din highway. The move has been met with mixed reactions within the Israeli government. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has criticized the pause, calling it unacceptable, while the UN has welcomed the move but urged for more concrete measures to address the humanitarian crisis. Despite the pause, the IDF's offensive in Rafah will continue, and the tactical pause will not include hotspots like Tal al-Sultan.
