DJI Completes First-Ever Drone Delivery Tests on Mount Qomolangma Using Flycart 30 on June 5, 2024
Jun 5, 2024, 02:00 PM
DJI, a Chinese drone manufacturer, has successfully completed the first-ever drone delivery tests on Mount Qomolangma (Mount Everest) from the Nepali side on June 5, 2024. The tests, conducted using the DJI Flycart 30, reached an altitude of 6,191 meters and involved lifting payloads of up to 15 kilograms. The drone was able to withstand winds of 15 meters per second and return with 43% battery remaining after carrying oxygen tanks up the mountain and bringing garbage down. This achievement marks the world's first round-trip high-altitude flight by a civilian cargo drone in the area and paves the way for facilitating high-altitude mountaineering, emergency rescue, and environmental protection operations.
