Stripe to Resume Crypto Payments with USDC on Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon This Summer
Apr 25, 2024, 06:40 PM
Stripe, a leading payments platform, has announced it will resume accepting cryptocurrency payments, starting with the USDC stablecoin. This decision comes after a six-year hiatus, marking a significant shift in Stripe's approach to crypto payments. The integration will support transactions on major blockchains including Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon, as announced by co-founder John Collison at the Stripe Connect conference. Set to begin this summer, the service aims to facilitate instant on-chain settlements that automatically convert to fiat currency. This development reflects Stripe's adaptation to the evolving digital payments landscape, catering to over 2.84 million live websites and numerous large companies.
