DeSantis Mobilizes Fuel Supplies as 1,300 Gas Stations Run Out Amid Hurricane Milton
Oct 8, 2024, 08:30 PM
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that hundreds of thousands of gallons of gasoline and diesel are being transported to Florida in anticipation of Hurricane Milton. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers are escorting fuel trucks along evacuation routes to ensure gas stations remain stocked as Floridians evacuate. The demand for fuel has surged, leading to over 1,300 gas stations running out of fuel, particularly in the Tampa area and along the Central and Southwest Florida coast. FHP is working around the clock to facilitate the delivery of fuel from seaports to gas stations. Governor DeSantis visited a logistics staging area in Ocala to oversee preparations.
